It has been an exciting week. Katie and Lauren competed in their first CrossFit Competition and they were amazing. Coach Natalie went to Chicago and received her StrongFirst Girya (Girya is Russian for Kettlebell) Level 1 certification.
We had a lot of new PRs this week. I know Geoff went up 40lbs on his front squat. Congratulations to everyone that made some gains.
Several of you have asked the history of Tabata. Dr. Izumi Tabata is a Japanese scientist from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo. He discovered that when an athlete does a high-intensity work out that lasts for 20 seconds (with 10 seconds of rest in between each set) for 8 intervals, there is a significant increase in the aerobic system over more traditional methods of hour long work outs.
